As stated in the March 2026 USBE Preschool Newsletter, USBE is retiring the online Developmental Observation Tool (DOT) due to statewide funding constraints. The USBE system will become readonly on July 31, 2026, and completely unavailable after August 31, 2026.

Multidimensional Software Creations (MDSC^®), who has developed and supported USBE DOT since its release in August 2017, will be hosting DOT at this location starting on August 1, 2026. Mike Jolley from MDSC is contacting LEAs to discuss more details regarding this opportunity.

What Will Happen to My Data?

MDSC will be adding export functionality so LEAs can download their data from the USBE DOT system and import it into this PreschoolDOT system.

If your school district uses or has used the USBE's online DOT and you would like to download all of your data, please complete the DOT Data Request Form. You have until July 31, 2026 to submit your data request. You will still be able to download your data up until August 31, 2026.
